Financial reports
Build reports by period and by category, summarise income and expenses, and export a PDF to present to the assembly.
Financial reports give you a clear view of what comes into and goes out of your church, over the period you choose. You can break the figures down by category, follow the month-by-month trend, and produce a clean PDF on your church letterhead, ready to present to the assembly. Here is how to use them.
Note: Every report follows your church's currency and official language. The PDF automatically carries your organisation's logo and contact details.
Choosing the period
At the top of the Reports page (under Finance), you set the period analysed for most reports:
- Enter a start date and an end date.
- Or use the quick-range buttons to move faster.
The quick ranges available:
| Quick range | Period covered |
|---|---|
| This month | From the 1st of the current month to today |
| Last month | The previous calendar month |
| This year | From 1 January to today |
| Last year | The previous calendar year |
Tip: for a report you will present to the assembly, pick a tidy period (a quarter, a calendar year). It reads far better than a range straddling two months.
The report by category
The By category tab splits all activity for the period across your categories: tithes, offerings, designated gifts, and also expenses. Each line shows the type (income or expense), the total amount, the number of transactions, the number of donors and the average amount. A total line closes the table.
This is the ideal report to answer "where did the money come from and where did it go?" over a given period.
The period summary
The By period tab gives a headline overview in figures: the total, the number of transactions, the number of donors and the average per transaction. Below that, the monthly trend shows each month's amount with a visual bar, so you can spot strong and quiet months at a glance.
Tip: combine both tabs: the period summary for the overall trend, the category breakdown to understand what is driving it.
Exporting a PDF for the assembly
Every report has a Print report button. It opens a laid-out version on your church letterhead (logo, name, contact details, generation date) that you can print or save as a PDF.
- Set the period you want.
- Open the tab for the report you need (by category or by period).
- Click Print report.
- In the window that opens, choose to print or save as a PDF.
Warning: the PDF reflects the period and the tab shown at the moment you print. Check your dates before generating the report.
