Many churches rebuild, every week in a video editor, the banner that runs along the bottom of their live stream: the theme, the preacher's name, the announcements. Sanctumel does it in Projection, for the live stream and the room at the same time, and you change it during the service.
Where to find it
- In Projection, the Broadcast look button.
- During a session, the Broadcast look button in the top bar: the same layers, in one column.
The page is laid out like editing software. At the top, the toolbar: the status, Setups, the church style, the catalogue, the workshop, automations, the overlay address, help and Send to the live stream. On the left, the layers: the eye turns one on or off, a click opens it. In the middle, the monitor: live Preview, or Output, what your broadcast software receives. The checkerboard is what will be transparent. On the right, the inspector of the chosen layer: Content, Style, Screens.
Saving and reusing your settings
Setups saves the settings under a name ("Sunday service", "Wedding"), twelve at most. Loading one fills the draft; the live stream receives it with the next send. They are kept for the whole church, on every computer.
The source: nothing to type again
The left column, The source, reads what is already entered in the Suite:
- Service theme and Preacher: this week's service, from Services and the preaching schedule. They fill today's card. The theme comes from the preaching schedule: the service's name in Services is never broadcast, and without a theme the card stays empty. Edit corrects them in place.
- Announcements: the next published events, up to three.
Each ticked box puts its lines in The ticker lines, with a tag for where they come from (Theme, Preaching, Announcement). Add a free line adds what you want to say yourself. What you wrote is never replaced.
The layers
The right column, The layers, shows them one by one, each with its own colour:
- Today's card: the theme, who speaks, the date;
- Verse: the projected verse, song or Message quote, with its reference;
- Scrolling ticker: the ticker lines;
- Logo bug: your logo in a corner, with no background. In its Content, Upload an image sets an image of its own, for example a white cut-out PNG for video, without touching the logo on your documents. In its Style: Logo only (the default), Plain corner (on a plate) or Halo, and an Animation: Fade, Slide, Zoom, Breathing, Flip or Shine;
- Waiting card: before the service, with a countdown that clears itself at zero;
- "Live" badge: optional, off until you turn it on.
Each layer comes in through its own door, one after the other: the logo fading in, the badge, the verse, the card sliding in from the left, the ticker last. The text itself never animates.
Today's card stays for the whole service. In its settings, Duration also offers 8 s, then leaves: a passing card, like a name caption on television, replayed with each send. It then comes back by itself, every 10 minutes by default (5, 10, 15 minutes or never, under Comes back), during the sermon too, and never at the same time as a service bar.
Click a layer to open it in the inspector. The eye turns it on or off.
Each layer says where it stands

In a layer's Screens tab: Room screen, Live stream overlay, Stage display. Each layer has its own, already set:

Ticking or unticking a screen applies at once, like the eye: nothing to send.
Sending
Click Send to the live stream. The monitor shows what will go out; Output shows the overlay itself, as your broadcast software receives it. Reloading the page or the session changes nothing on air: what is live stays live, and On live keeps its state.
Today's card
No card taken from real broadcasts scrolls: it is a fixed block. In its settings, Model offers five, also shown in the catalogue, drawn with your own card:
- Glass (the default): a blurred panel, the theme in serif, the identity line in gold. It holds on any picture;
- Capsule: a warm pill, the circled photo, the theme in gold capitals. Keep it for wide shots;
- Two tiers: white above, colour below, with the church and its website. The most information;
- Slate: a single, almost opaque tier and a gold rule. The lowest;
- Portrait: vertical, in a corner, when the camera is close on the face.
The photo is the scheduled preacher's: their profile photo in the Suite. For a guest, or when the profile has none, Upload an image under Photo sets one for this card. You crop it before sending, like a member's photo. With neither, it is the church logo. If you retype the name by hand, the profile photo does not follow. Preacher's photo removes the photo.
The model catalogue
See the model catalogue offers ten ticker models, drawn with your own lines: Glass (the default), News, Thin line, Two tiers, Full bleed, Relay, Neon, Countdown, Typewriter, Understated. Each one fits a filming situation: a moving camera, a bright picture, a vigil. You also choose the logo bug and the Church style there: Minimal, Modern, Rich or Futuristic.
The church style
The style is chosen once, for all layers: its colours, its corners and its font (Archivo for Minimal and Rich, IBM Plex Sans for Modern, Playfair for Futuristic). Minimal cuts its plates with a bevel; Minimal and Rich write in capitals. Changing style re-dresses all ten layers at once, never just one.
The style is saved in the church theme, next to the projection fonts: it applies to every computer and every Sunday. The catalogue shows your ten layers in your style; the live stream receives it with the next send.
The verse
It goes out by itself. As long as the Verse layer is on air, each slide projected in the session goes to the live stream in this style: a verse, a song or a Message quote. It leaves when the slide changes. You no longer need to turn on On live for this.
The text always fits in its frame: it gets smaller rather than losing a line. A song's lyrics are centred; the reference tab follows your style everywhere, verse, song and Message. A Message quote keeps the sermon title, the date and the version, without the city; the room screen keeps everything.
In the verse settings:
- What goes to the live stream: Verses, Message, Songs. Untick what you do not want on the live stream;
- The body: Dark, White, Gold, Bright, or the Church style;
- Background transparency: the background gets lighter, the text stays solid;
- the reference tab, on the left, centre or right, and its shape;
- Show the Bible version: the abbreviation (KJV, LSG) comes from the Bible actually projected, nothing to type;
- the verse number as a superscript;
- The second language, stacked: under a rule, in italics. Bilingual is decided at insertion: a verse projected in one language stays that way.
Starting point offers six ready-made settings, one per church style: Bevelled plate, Tab on the right, White body, Bright ink, Gold pill, Glass. A starting point sets the body, the shape and the tab side in one go; each stays editable afterwards. The catalogue draws them with a sample verse.
The workshop
Compose in the workshop opens the workshop. Choose one of the ten layers in the list: the workshop composes it. The church style sets the corners, the material and the font; the workshop lets you move away from it, one setting at a time: the corners (square, rounded, pill, bevel), the edges (sharp or faded), the material (flat, translucent, blurred, gradient, texture) and its opacity, the title text (normal, capitals, gradient), the photo (none, round, square, cut-out) and the separator, for today's card only.
What you set there becomes that layer's My template, next to its models. The workshop flags a contrast that is too low (under 4.5 to 1), judged on a bright picture as well as a dark one: text gets lost on the live stream, not in the control room.
The preview shows the text actually projected. When nothing is, it shows a sample verse, marked as such.
The service bars
Three bars join the layers: Social bar, Giving bar and Schedule. The module suggests, the church decides:
- From the church profile: your church's social accounts (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram) and public service times, three at most;
- From documents: the IBAN and the account holder, where the Suite already keeps them for the letterhead;
- Free entry: what you type yourself.
Each line carries its mark. A Module line updates itself when the Suite changes; a Free line never moves. Once on, the bars rotate: every eight minutes, one of them appears for twenty seconds, in turn; with three bars, each comes back every twenty-four minutes. Never during the preaching, nor during a Message quote. A bar you turn on goes out at once for twenty seconds, then waits for its turn. Its track says so: Rotation, or No lines if it has nothing to show. Untick In rotation to keep a bar fixed.
Page QR code shows the QR code of your church's public page, logo embedded, with its call to action. The "Live" badge comes in four styles: red badge, dot only, with the channel, understated on the left.
Automations
Automations shows a Sunday layer by layer, and six rules, each with its switch:
- By moment of the service: on a section title in the session (Welcome, Worship, Offering…), the card takes the moment's title; at the preaching, the prepared card comes back.
- Before, during, after: its "before" part is the opening countdown.
- Bar rotation: twenty seconds every eight minutes, never during the preaching.
- Triggered by the slide: the projected verse, song or quote goes to the live stream.
- A line expires: an announcement whose event has passed leaves the ticker by itself.
- The opening countdown: thirty minutes before the service time, the waiting card appears with its countdown; at zero, it clears itself.
An automation never takes over by force: during the service, Pause automation stays in the session's Broadcast look menu. It applies to the current moment and turns itself back on at the next one.
Connect your broadcast software once
- In the toolbar, Address copies the overlay address.
- In your broadcast software (OBS, vMix, Wirecast…), add a Browser or Web source, paste the address, at 1920 × 1080.
- To check, switch the monitor to Output.
The address never changes: you paste it once. If the source is not 1920 × 1080, the look shrinks to fit the picture and stays at the bottom.
During the service
- While on air, the eye turns a layer on or off right away.
- A corrected text goes out when you click Update the live stream. In the ticker, it comes in on the next turn: it never jumps on screen.
- The remote changes the ticker lines from the room (the phone's Ticker button). Under The ticker lines, the control room says who changed it last: you, another control room or the remote, with the time. If someone else changes a layer while you are editing it, a warning says so before you send.
- Cut everything removes it all at once, without erasing anything: a click on Send to the live stream brings it back exactly.
- The look stays on air as long as the Broadcast look page or your session is open. If both close, it clears itself after two minutes.
On the room screen
Both room screens receive the look by themselves: the window the session opens on the second screen, and the networked room screen. The ticker takes its own space at the bottom of the screen: the lyrics move up above it, they are never covered. In the room it is bigger and slower than on the live stream: people read it from afar. On the stage display, the card sits at the top.
What the régie tells you about the live stream
The régie no longer shows what you meant to send, but what the live stream really receives.
- The top indicator turns red « EN DIRECT » (live) when your broadcasting software (OBS) has received what goes out; « OBS connected » when it listens with nothing to show; « OBS absent » when something should go out and nobody receives it.
- On air, the layer list shows the live stream, not your draft. A layer posted by an automation reads « Automatic »; Send this layer to the live stream replaces a single layer without touching the others.
- « Not confirmed » appears if the server stops answering: the live stream keeps what it showed, nothing disappears at once.
- Only one régie writes the live stream: the one piloting the séance. A second open tab no longer erases it.
The verse only dresses the live stream: the hall and the stage already show the slide full size. The « Live » pastille removes itself when OBS is not broadcasting (in OBS, the browser source needs permission to read OBS status). On the hall and stage screens, the bars stop during the sermon and pauses, as on the live stream.
