Choosing the publication type

Text, photo, audio, video, prayer request, poll, story or verse - the right format for each message.

2026-07-04

A publication is not always a plain announcement. Depending on what you want to share, you pick a content type that changes how the message appears and how your members can respond. It all happens in the same composer window.

Available types

When you open New publication, a grid of types shows at the top. Each one adapts the form and the way the post appears in the feed.

TypeUseWhat it adds
TextSimple announcement or newsThe written content alone
PhotoOne or several imagesCarousel of several photos

Prayer requestRally the communityA "Praying" button and prayer counter
PollAsk a question2 to 5 options, results as percentages

VerseShare a Bible passagePicker linked to the app's Bible

Creating a poll

  1. Open New publication and choose Poll (or the Poll shortcut).
  2. Write the question in the text area.
  3. Fill in at least two options. Add up to five with Add option.
  4. Publish. Members vote once and then see the breakdown in percentages.

Tip: a clear poll (two or three choices) gathers more answers than a long list.

Inserting a verse

The Verse type opens a picker linked to the internal Bible. Three modes are offered:

  • Random: suggests a well-known verse that you can swap with one click.
  • Search: type words and choose from the results.
  • Browse: navigate by book and chapter, then select a verse or a range.

Once chosen, the verse and its reference automatically fill the publication content.

Posting a story

A story is a short format that disappears after 24 hours. Without an image, pick a coloured background; a preview of the text over the background appears as you write. Stories show in a dedicated bar at the top of the feed, separate from regular publications.

Note: stories do not stay in the feed. For a lasting message, prefer a text or photo publication.

Options shared by every publication

Before publishing, a few settings apply to all types:

  • Visibility: Internal (members only) or Public (can be relayed on the church page).
  • Comments: on or off.
  • Anonymous: hides the author, useful for a sensitive prayer request.
  • Schedule: pick a date and time for a delayed release.

A Preview tab lets you see the final result before confirming.
