Shared songbooks (inter-church library)
Publish your church's songbook and import others'.
2026-07-05
Shared songbooks are an inter-church library of song collections. Your church can publish its songbook; others browse and import it into their own, in one click. Reach it from Worship & Music > Shared songbooks.
Import a songbook
- Open Worship & Music, Songbook tab, then Shared songbooks.
- Browse the library (search, Certified churches filter). Click a songbook to see its contents and license.
- À la carte: tick the songs you want (most-imported first, with their download count) then Import selection - or All for the whole set. Songs you already have are greyed out "Already in your songbook" and skipped.
Good to know: duplicates (same title) are automatically detected and skipped - importing never overwrites your existing songs.
Publish your songbook
- From Shared songbooks, click Publish my songbook.
- Give it a name (pre-filled with your church name, editable), a language and a short description.
- Choose a license:
- Free - public domain or songs you hold sharing rights for.
- CC-BY - reuse with attribution (Creative Commons).
- Internal - restricted to partner churches.
- Submit. A snapshot of your active songs is created.
Warning: publishing is subject to Sanctumel review (copyright) before it appears in the library. You are notified of the outcome. Only publish songs whose lyrics you are allowed to share.
Key points
- Snapshot: the published songbook is frozen at publish time. Editing your songbook later won't change the already-shared one (re-publish to update).
- Certified badge: songbooks from certified churches carry a gold badge.
- Tracking: the My songbooks tab shows the status of your submissions (pending, published, rejected with reason).
