Fees and commissions
What Sanctumel Pay really costs - commission per plan, payment provider fees, and what Sanctumel covers for you.
Sanctumel Pay is free: no subscription required, no signup fee, no commitment. The service is funded solely by a commission on completed donations. This page details every fee, with no grey areas.
The Sanctumel commission
The commission is deducted automatically from each donation, before the payout to your church. The higher your Sanctumel Suite plan, the lower the commission:
- Without a subscription (Pay only): 2.90%
- Standard plan: 2.20%
- Premium plan: 1.80%
- Network plan: 1.20%
Example with the Standard plan: a €100 donation yields €97.80 net for your church.
Payment provider fees
The provider (Stripe for cards, the Mobile Money operator depending on the country) charges its own transaction fees, deducted from the gross amount. As an indication with Stripe: about 1.5% + €0.25 for a European card, more for a non-European card. These fees are set by the provider, not by Sanctumel.
Info: when giving, the donor can choose to cover the fees: they pay slightly more so your church receives 100% of the intended amount.
What Sanctumel covers for you
Your Stripe payout account has an account fee (billed by Stripe to the platform, about €2 in months when a payout goes to your bank). Sanctumel covers this cost entirely: it is never deducted from your donations nor billed to your church. No hidden fees: you only pay the commission listed above.
Where to see your actual fees
In Finance, each payment shows three amounts: the gross (what the donor paid), the fees (commission + provider), and the net (what reaches your account). The ledger and reports always use these three columns - your treasurer sees everything, donation by donation.
