Scan an expense receipt (photo), refund a donation from the product and handle a dispute, with no surprise at the till.

Two actions that used to force you out of Sanctumel now happen inside the product: attaching the receipt of an expense by photographing it, and refunding a gift without opening the provider's dashboard.

Scan an expense receipt

When entering an expense, a Scan a receipt button:

  1. Photograph the ticket (the camera opens on mobile).
  2. The receipt is attached to the entry (auditable, kept).
  3. The amount, date, vendor fields are pre-filled automatically — you confirm or correct.

Tip: even when automatic reading is unavailable, the photo stays attached. A photographed receipt beats a lost ticket.

Reading is done by a self-hosted engine: no sensitive image is sent to a third-party service.

Refund a donation

In Online collections, every card gift has a ↩︎ Refund button:

  1. Confirm (optional reason).
  2. The donor is refunded; the money is pulled back from the church's account and Sanctumel's commission is returned.
  3. A "Refund" entry is added to the ledger to reflect the net loss.

Note: the church only loses its net (what it had received), not the gross: the commission is returned by the platform, not by the church. The donor's tax receipt is corrected automatically.

Automatic refunds apply to the card rail (Stripe). For mobile money, refund via the operator.

Handle a dispute

If a donor disputes a payment with their bank (chargeback), Sanctumel tracks it: the gift moves to "Dispute" status, an entry is posted, and you are no longer caught by surprise. Evidence is submitted on the provider's side.
