Create a permanent meeting room

Open a fixed, reusable meeting link for a recurring group or service that you turn on and off with a single click.

A permanent room is a meeting whose link never changes: you share it once, then open or close it whenever you need to. It is perfect for a weekly prayer meeting, a small group or a team check-in that comes back every week.

How it differs from a regular meeting

A regular meeting happens at a set time and then ends. A permanent room stays available at the same address at all times: participants keep the same link from one week to the next.

Create the room

  1. Open Sanctumel Meet, then New meeting.
  2. Give it a title (for example "Tuesday prayer group").
  3. Turn on the Permanent meeting option.
  4. Choose a custom address (the shortcut after /meet/join/). Use letters, digits and hyphens.
  5. Optionally add the usual schedule ("Every Tuesday at 8pm"): it is shown to participants.

Tip: pick a short address that is easy to say out loud, such as prayer-tuesday. You can then share it verbally without mistakes.

Open and close the room

On the permanent room card, a single button toggles between two states:

  • Open the room: participants can join.
  • Close the room: access is paused until the next time you open it.

While the room is closed, anyone clicking the link sees a waiting screen with the usual schedule, without being able to enter.

Note: the link stays valid even when the room is closed. You never have to resend it: simply open the room before the meeting.

Copy the link from the card and send it once and for all by message, email or WhatsApp. You can also protect entry with a password and choose whether the room is internal or public.
