Families and zones

Group your members by family and by geographic zone to follow up and visit them better.

A church isn't a plain list of names: it's families and neighbourhoods. Sanctumel lets you link members together (families) and attach them to a geographic zone, to organise visits and communication.

Group a family

Linking members of the same household makes invitations, pastoral follow-up and statistics easier.

  1. Open a member's record, or the Families section.
  2. Create a family and add the relevant members.
  3. Set, if you wish, each person's role in the household.

Tip: linking children to their parents later lets you quickly find a whole family and avoid duplicate addresses.

Create zones

Zones split your church by neighbourhood, town or sector. They're used to spread out visits, run small groups and target communication.

  1. Open the Zones section.
  2. Create a zone (for example a neighbourhood) and appoint a leader.
  3. Assign members to their zone.

Note: a member belongs to a single zone at a time, but can also be part of a family and a department. These groupings stack.

Use these groupings

Once families and zones are in place, you can:

  • Filter the member list by zone or by family.
  • Send a targeted message to a specific zone.
  • Spread visits among zone leaders.

Going further

  • Assign a role and a department to each member.
  • Track birthdays by zone.
  • Communicate with a zone by email or WhatsApp.
